The Conservatorium Hotel

November 2011 will see the opening of The Conservatorium Hotel, in the heart of Museumplein – Amsterdam’s historic cultural quarter, home to some of the world’s most famous museums and galleries. Following the opening of its multi-award winning sister property, Mamilla Hotel, in Jerusalem in June 2009, The Conservatorium Hotel will offer guests an experience that is at once locally-oriented and world-class. Guests will be offered unique access to the best of the local culture alongside amenities, service and design that compete at the highest level on a global stage.

The Conservatorium Hotel occupies the famous site of Amsterdam’s former Sweelinck music conservatorium. Originally built at the end of the 19th Century and conceived by the renowned Dutch architect Daniel Knuttel as the Rijkspostspaarbank Building, the hotel has been renovated and re-imagined by interior architect Piero Lissoni, bringing clean lines, classic modernist and contemporary furniture and shades of grey occasionally dotted with warm, bright accents.

The Conservatorium Hotel will feature 129 guest rooms, many in an innovative duplex formation, a destination restaurant overseen by chef Shilo van Coevorden, a ‘Mirror Bar’, Akasha Wellbeing Centre spread across 1,000 square meters and a host of meeting and events spaces.
