Emilio De La Morena
A purveyor of a structured, clean and understated decadence Emilio de la Morena is emerging as one of London’s most exciting new design talenBorn in the Mediterranean city of Alicante in Spain, Emilio relocated to Britain in 1993. After graduating with a first class honors degree in International Business from Edinburgh, Emilio joined one of the leading world’s leading brand consultancies based in London and over several years worked on number of diverse and challenging commercial projects.
In 2002 Emilio felt a compulsion to pursue his creative vocation, studied fashion Design at Central Saint Martins and has since been appointed by some of the industry’s most innovative designers including Rafael Lopez and Jonathan Saunders.
Veteran journalist Colin McDowell of Sunday Times Style and IMG established the Fashion Fringe award in 2004. Emilio de la Morena received a huge testimonial to his talent reaching the semi-finals of the prestigious competition with his debut women’s-wear collection in September 2005.
Emilio’s idée fix is creating something fresh from modernizing old and obscure craftsmanship techniques. Inspired by sculpture, Emilio has been refining his signature body conscious silhouette working with subtle paneling and delicate fabrics, which contour the figure.
Devotees include Kate Moss, Leighton Meester, Julia Roitfeld, Beyonce, Olivia Palermo, Roisin Murphy, Rihanna and Gwyneth Paltrow.
